Dr Showkat Hassan
Dr Showkat is a computational material scientist with expertise in several disciplines including condensed matter physics, quantum physics, nanotechnology and materials science. His formal training is in computational condensed matter physics, mainly materials design by using quantum mechanical calculations. Dr Showkat strengths include his diverse background and ability to successfully adapt to a wide range of academic environments. He has very strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Dr Showkat is highly motivated in all of his research activities.

​Hi! I am Showkat Hassan from Jammu and Kashmir. I'm a postdoctoral fellow at IIT Kanpur. I've done my Ph.D in Nano Sciences from Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar. Currently, I'm working as a postdoctoral research fellow in the department of chemical engineering at IIT Kanpur. I'm using density functional theory to study the electronic, optical and phonon properties of materials.
